Publication date: June 18th 2019
Genres: Adult, Fantasy, LGBTQ+, Romance

It’s easy to be a villain.

Or is it?

Domino Enviedhieri is a young magica user and aspiring entrepreneur stripped of his heritage, his dignity, and most importantly, his allowance. After being forced to battle a rampant demoness alongside his rival at the strip club where he works, Domino finally decides he’s had enough and wants to kill the bastard for stealing his well-deserved spotlight for the hundredth time.

With the help of his ethnically diverse crew, Domino embarks on an epic quest for ultimate power. Though the journey is riddled with dicks, demons, danger, and confusing sexual feelings for one’s best friend, Domino is determined to prove his greatness to the world and to himself.

But to beat the fiercest warrior in the enchanted Republic of Kitaria, there’s really only one power Domino needs to gain: his own sense of self-worth.

EXCERPT:

After shaking his head back into consciousness, Domino turned his face toward the person onto whom he’d been pushed by his most disliked traveling companion. He laid his eyes upon a pastel-yellow bishop-sleeve shirt with ornamental gold patterns around the edges and a muscular dark-skinned chest that peered from underneath. His face transformed into a look of otherworldly dread as the man’s lips smiled back at him.

“Gah!” Domino shrieked, falling back onto the floor. “You!” he barked, pointing at the man with his finger and glare.

“I-it’s all right, friend! It’s only me!” said the man, standing up from his chair to help Domino.

His jaw was square and masculine, yet his smile was kind. His skin was a warm copper-brown color. He had a buzz cut, an athletic build, and a large sword sheathed away on his back that hung off him by several leather straps. The whole world recognized him and his raging success in the endless battle against evil fiends across the globe. He was a hero by profession. Admired by many, despised by the rest, but most of all, he was feared. He was Zephyr Hugo.

Domino slapped Zephyr’s hand away and stood up by himself. “What? You came here to rub your giant magical sword in my face?”

“Of course not.” Zephyr chuckled, averting his bashful gaze. “I—I mean…I could show it to you if—”

“Why did you come to bother me while I’m at work?” argued Domino. “No—why did you come to bother me--period?”

“Well, uh…” mumbled Zephyr. “I know how much you hate charity, so I realized the best way to help you would be to pay you in exchange for your noble services.”

Domino’s face turned blood red. His eyes opened wide from the sheer amount of shock and embarrassment coursing through his body.

Zephyr presented him with a heavy coin pouch, smiling and blushing like a prepubescent boy confessing his feelings to his crush.

“Ooooooo!” the nearby spectators cheered.

Domino glanced at the drunkards with a fierce glare, wishing he had the balls to throw a beer stein at each and every one of them.

Zephyr continued to gaze at Domino with his hand stretched out, holding the coin pouch in front of him.

“Stop staring at me like that, you freak!” Domino shouted at him, his voice revealing a hint of anxiety among all the anger and discomfort. “I’m not gonna fucking sleep with you!”

“O-oh, no!” Zephyr replied, pulling back the pouch and placing his hand on his chest, unable to look Domino in the eye anymore, let alone keep his smile subdued. “You misunderstood me. I—I merely wanted to compensate you for your performance. Isn’t that how it works?”

A moment of silence filled the air around them, though it wasn’t much, considering how the rest of the club was still raving with noise from the music and the crowd’s cheers.

Domino took a bit of time to think about the proposal before answering. “Okay,” he grumbled, grabbing the pouch from Zephyr while keeping his glare pointed at him. “I’ll take the coins. But only ’cause I’m poor now.” He then tied the pouch around the side of his tight thong that slowly slipped down due to the excess weight. “Fucking shit…” he groaned as he tried to pull the thong closer to his hip bone, hoping it would stay on until he could store the pouch in a less inconvenient location.

Publication Date: January 4, 2019
eBook & Paperback; 426 Pages
Genre: Historical Fiction
“Has it ever occurred to you, Johann; the fact that we’re fighting on the wrong side?” Austria, 1938 On the verge of the most devastating war of all times, four young men found themselves sharing a room in a flying school dormitory. A bohemian Berliner, a Flieger-Hitlerjugend member, a prodigy pilot, and a butcher’s son, with nothing in common but their love for the Luftwaffe and the freedom the sky has to offer. The bond they develop is put to the test by what might be a stronger adversary - war itself. Over the English Channel, in the dusty skies of Africa, on the brutal Eastern front, they will discover where their loyalty lies, and what true bravery means. “It’s Großdeutsches Reich, soldier. When one has a family at home, it doesn’t leave him many chances for the revolt.” As the war progresses, Willi and Johann grow more and more disillusioned with the regime they’re protecting with their lives. An SS unit appearing on their base to claim one of their own; bits of conversation revealing the truth about the extermination program accidentally overheard during the official reception - the pieces of the puzzle are slowly coming together, but it’s too late to do anything but fight to the bitter end, whatever it may bring. Set during one of the bloodiest wars in history, “Of Knights and Dogfights” is the story of the shattered illusions of youth, tyranny and freedom, friendship and love guiding one out of the darkest hell of Soviet captivity.

EXCERPT:

Crack.

The iron’s edge sunk into his head like an ax striking a ripe cantaloupe on a warm summer afternoon.

I gripped the icy metallic handle tighter, preparing to deliver another blow. Frozen in place, I watched anxiously for the man to accept what I did and keel over.

He spun on his heels drunkenly. The poor man’s mouth dropped open, his brows angling up in stark confusion. His left pupil ballooned to the size of a nickel, black engulfing the toffee brown of his iris.

I covered my mouth with a shaky hand.

Mr. Kingly staggered backward. His eyes rolled to the back of his head, and he collapsed to the floor like a sack of grain.

Oh my God. What have I done?

He didn’t warn me. Edison didn’t tell me it would be so…messy. So…bloody.

Why did I do this?

Something warm and goopy trickled down my left index finger.

I wiped my hand on my skirt.

Instantly realizing my carelessness, I gaped down at the layers of silk covering my thigh. Fine cerulean threads absorbed the red handprint I smeared along the folds of fabric.

There it was, a single blemish of indisputable evidence forever marking my clothes. A scarlet testament to my wrongdoings.

The room set into a dizzying spin around me. I threw my hand against the wall, steadying myself. My breath quickened. The bones of my corset dug into my ribs.

I can’t breathe. I’m going to faint right here…next to Mr. Kingly. They’ll find me beside his dead body and know, without a doubt, it was me.

Slumping over, I tugged at the edge of my bodice, struggling to gulp down air.

Why didn’t I just tell him no?

“You know why, Syn,” I whispered between jagged breaths.

A soft gasp behind me broke the chaos of my shamed thoughts.

I twirled around, the hem of my bell-shaped dress dragging in the pool of blood collecting around my feet. The added weight of Mr. Kingly’s life-force soaking into the lofty fabric weighted me down like fifty-pound shackles fastened to my ankles.

Tula stood at the foot of the cellar stairs quiet as a mouse, her glossy eyes fixed on me and her lips pressed into a thin line. She, somehow, sneaked up behind me.

A rock settled in my stomach. Had she seen me?

I wound my shoulder in a small circle, the clothing iron heavy in my right hand. Chilling and cumbersome like Mr. Kingly’s blood, it taunted me with the crime I committed minutes before and pulled at my strained joint.

“I thought I told you to remain on the first floor during the party.” I glanced down at her feet, and her bare toes curled sheepishly.

The clever girl removed her shoes so I wouldn’t hear her coming.

She was always looking out for me, worrying Edison’s demands would break me one day. I should have known she wouldn’t keep her distance from me tonight. Tula was never far from me, ready to pick me up and give me strength whenever she suspected I was falling too deep into despair.

She picked at an ivory button on her sleeve, her emerald eyes glossy. She was particularly concerned about how I’d handle tonight.

The fifteen-year-old girl with mellow beige skin and a spray of dark-brown freckles bridging her cheeks and nose stared at me. Ignoring my remark about her tending to the gathering, she remained quiet and clung to her own inner strength. Most people would shriek and run if they walked in on a tableau such as this. Aside from a slight tremble in her shoulder, Tula maintained more self-control than I was capable of mustering at the moment.

Amazon Bestselling Author Hope Daniels grew up in a small resort area in Michigan where she and her husband still live today. As the third child of four, she had an exhaustive imagination. From straddling the back-porch railing as a wild cowgirl, to saving the world as Wonder Woman complete with homemade bullet stopping bracelets. She was always taking what she read and making it as real as she could, now if she could just find the wolf shifter of her dreams…

Love of reading began at an early age, due to a first-grade teacher living next door, and her own father reading bible stories to her before bed each night. It was cemented in elementary when she discovered scholastic books, specifically Marguerite Henry’s Misty of Chincoteague. Her love of horses and reading has never diminished, even after her husband took her to Chincoteague Island for their honeymoon.

Daniels loves to write in multiple genre which includes her short in the Amazon Bestselling Anthology Black Magic (A Women of Urban Fantasy Production), a Contemporary and YA short in the LDLInk Anthologies and a soon to be released short story in the Encompass Ink’s All You Need Is Love Anthology releasing June 23, titled Always and Forever. EXCERPT ONE:

Troy stood outside the heavy steel door. He could only imagine what the two men looked like on the other side. Why had he been brought into the middle of this family affair? It was all kind of fucked up, that’s for damn sure. But rather than being led into the interrogation room, he was led past the door of fun and games and into the observation lounge. Troy used the term loosely. Very loosely as it was more like closet.
“Wait here please. I’ll let the Sheriff know you’re here.”
Shit for brains let Tom know he was there alright. The A-hole pounded on the window. I could have done that asswipe. “Thanks,” he said aloud.
“No problem,” the officer stated before going back out to the front desk.
Alone now, Troy let himself look at the angry bull of his ex in the next room. Bull is the only way he could describe him. Marshall looked a little worse for the wear at approximately six feet even, give or take an inch, broad strong shoulders, muscular arms and thighs, hair longer than usual, but what got Troy was his eyes. Even though Troy knew, without a doubt, the male could not see through the window, he felt as if he was staring directly at him. Yeah, the place was a closet, but he hadn’t said a word and Marshall knew someone was on this side of the glass. It didn’t deter Troy from staring at him or wishing things had been different when they signed up for opposing branches of the military, but looking at Marsh now, all the old feelings came back. It made him twitchy and twitchy was not Troy being in control.
Drawn into the soldier’s pain, somehow Troy felt he could remove that pain and replace it with—replace it with what? What the fuck was he supposed to replace it with? Roses and sunshine? Troy snorted. Somedays he did good just getting his own ass out of bed and downstairs to his pretty ladies. How the hell was he supposed to help Marshall who was as fucked up as he was? It takes one to know one. Maybe it takes one to heal one. Is that what you’re supposed to do for me Marsh? Heal me? Troy scoffed at the idea, as much as he wanted it to be true. Maybe they could heal each other. That thought was the only light in his dismal existence as of late.
“Troy.” Sheriff opened the door letting in the bright light from the hall, dream revealing brightness. “Thanks for coming. I’m sorry I had to drag your ass out of bed at four in the morning,” he nodded towards the other room. “I know you two have a history, but if you can’t help him—I don’t know what we’re gonna do. Marshall’s got himself into a situation. I might be able to get him out of it, but only if I can prove he’s gotten some help.”
The despair rang true from Tom’s lips. The sheriff worried about his nephew. Maybe he had been close to the ingrate at one time before Afghanistan. We’d all been close to people before Afghanistan. I’d had Jay during, but that was a lifetime ago. I’d cared for him, but he wasn’t Marshall.
“What exactly do you think I can do for you, Tom? All that history might help, or it just might fuck us both in the ass and not in a good way.”
It was the first time he’d seen the man appear defeated. Nah, Tom wasn’t defeated. He was tired, true. Never defeated. He didn’t have it in him to give up the fight, but Tom did snort in what could be termed as laughter.
“I’m hoping you can work with Marshall. He goes by the handle Ricochet. I know it’s a lot to ask.”
He left unsaid that he’d owe me big time. One of those call me when you’re in deep shit type situations. It was tempting. Especially looking into those haunting eyes.
“What happened to him and his unit?”
“Don’t you want to ask him?”
Troy smirked. “You’re telling me the official version. He’ll tell me the real story. They ain’t necessarily going to be one and the same.”
He stood there staring at Marshall, aka Ricochet as Tom told him the story of how a cocky, know-it-all kid became a soldier, went up the ranks quickly and how his unit got sent behind enemy lines by mistake. Mistake my ass. Unless you lived it, you didn’t understand it so he nodded now and again or asked a question and took it all in.
“If I do this you stay away?” Troy stated, though he framed it in the form of a question.
“Fuck no I’m not going to stay away. He’s my family.”
“He’s under my protection. I’m not going to intentionally hurt him, but he will be hurt. Just watching him struggle in there I can tell he wants to fight. He needs it right now. I’ll spar with him until he has fought all the anger inside, all the ghosts. He’s going to be bruised and broken down. But I won’t kill him. Nothin’ like that. I won’t let him hurt himself.” That was the last thing he needed. A fucking suicide. He didn’t think Marshall, no, Ricochet, was suicidal though. “I can’t even imagine how angry he’ll be when he sees me,” he said mostly to himself.
No, this guy was something else entirely. The more Troy watched him through the window, the more he wanted to get him alone. What have you seen to do this to you? He knew what he’d seen. What he’d heard. He’d been way up the ranks. Privy to shit some Generals didn’t have access to. It came with the territory of being able to hack your own ass and knowing more languages than was sensible. It was why he was still on active duty, yet not. Why his pay grade was classified.
“Trust me Tom. I’m not going to hurt him. He needs a lot of therapy. More than I do and he needs time. I don’t know what the fuck he saw, but it’s eating away at him from the inside. Until he can tell someone, or work through it, he’s going to be what you see in there—an angry, confused half-cocked jackass who cannot be around people. If you want any chance of him being able to come back to your family, let me try to help him.”
Troy turned back toward the window. Blue gray eyes stared straight back at him, boring into his soul. â€‹

EXCERPT:

JIMMY

This girl.

Delphi.

Who the hell is she?

And she’s pink, which means she’s important. Which means she probably explodes like Lyra and Corla. Which means… why the fuck is she here?

Sun gods, Jimmy. Get a grip. She already told you in not so many words, she’s here for you!

Oh, yeah. How did that slip my mind? Like… it’s kind of an important fact, right? She’s here for me.

There’s definitely something wrong with me. Maybe she drugged me? Maybe this DNA signature scramble is wearing off?

It shouldn’t be. I’m months early for my booster. This whole trip was just about extra precautions.

But everything has gone wrong since I dropped Xyla off. When was the last time I was in danger and Xyla wasn’t around to have my back?

Never, I decide. This is the first and only time that I’ve been out in space without her.

I wonder if I could reach her from here?

I tap my wristband and find her contact, so wishing we were on Harem and I could just open an air screen or command Baby ALCOR to send a neutrino wave to her comms. I ping her, hoping that Blue Sand Beach is close enough for me to get through.

But a Mighty Minion message appears stating that while I’m not authorized for inter-station calls I could purchase an add-on communication package for the low, low price of twenty-five thousand credits.

Figures. This place is such a scam.

I decide this is worth it, so I tap the ‘Purchase’ tab. I need to get in touch with her and let her know what’s happening. My Mighty Pass chimes and says, “You can now make inter-station calls in the Vacation Sector.”

“Great.” I tab Xyla again, then wait as a little animation of Mighty Boss making a call to Mighty Hime plays on my little screen.

Xyla’s face appears. She’s in the middle of sipping a frothy exotic drink with half a dozen swizzle sticks poking out the top, and her sexybot girlfriends are all crowding into the frame. “Jim-meeeeeee!” She laughs, almost spitting out her drink.

“So hey, sorry to bother you but—”

“Jim-meeeeeeee,” all the girlfriends echo.

“Uh, hey… ladies. Nice to see you again. Xyla, can I have a moment?”

“Jimmmmmm-meeeeeeeeeeee!” they all say again.

For sun’s fucking sake. Has everyone on my team lost their fucking mind?

“I got a new swimsuit,” Xyla says. “Wanna check it out?” She fumbles with her wristband, taking it off, I guess, then hands it to her friend and says, “Get all of me in the frame,” as she steps back and starts modeling her new purple bikini, yellow ocean and blue sand beach in the background.

“Looks great,” I say. “So can I talk to you for—”

“Don’t you love it? Cha-Cha got one too. Here, Chach. Gimme that back and you model next!”

“Xyla,” I say, rubbing my temple with two fingers. Because I’m starting to get annoyed.

But Cha-Cha is already twirling unsteadily in a circle. Her suit is lime green and comes with holsters hanging off her hip strings for holding knives.

“Now you, Ladybug!”

Ladybug’s suit is black with red polka dots and she’s sporting a plasma pistol on her hip.

“And look!” Xyla exclaims. “They sell SEAR swords here!” The frame rotates, goes upside down, then rotates again and then Xyla is standing backlit by a fake Blue Sand Beach sun, spinning, and kicking as she demonstrates her sword skills.

I just watch her until she’s done because Chach and Ladybug are screaming and whistling in the background.

She comes back to the wristband, takes it in her hand and shoves it up to her face, then pans it around the beach hut. “This place,” she slurs, “is a goddamned assassin’s paradise!”

“Are we assassins now?” I ask.

“We’ve decided we are,” Cha-Cha says, as she whips out her own sword, stands, erect, closes her eyes, breathes deep, and then starts doing a slow-motion kata routine complete with slow-motion talking.

Ladybug and Xyla erupt in giggles, practically falling over.

  1. So calling Xyla was probably a bad idea.

“Oh,” Xyla says, still laughing. “Did you need something, Jimmy?”

“No,” I say. “No… just we’re stuck here.”

Xyla frowns. “Stuck? Where?”

“On Mighty Minions.”

All three girls erupt in laughter.

“Yup,” I say. “It’s pretty funny. We got a virus and had to stop to get a new water generator. And now Dicker seems to have a strip poker problem and I met this girl. She’s supposed to be an engineer but she’s really—”

A siren sounds over on Blue Sand Beach and all three girls swivel their heads to the left.

“That’s the last call for the wet package contest,” Xyla says, out of breath. “Gotta go.”

And then the call drops.

What the fuck is happening?

I call her back but Mighty Boss informs me that I’ve used up all my comm credits.

Because of course I have.

Just then the bedroom door opens and Delphi walks out wearing tight leggings that hug her hips, a tight sweater that hugs her tits, and some furry booties.

Immediately I become distracted. Like… I can’t take my eyes off this cute little pink nightmare. My cocks begin to swell. Both of them. And if I was in my right mind I’d be worried about that, because my junk just doesn’t work that way. But I’m not in my right mind. My mind is consumed with thoughts of kissing her, and fondling her, and yes, fucking her brains out.

Dax, low status and a non-conformist, is stuck in the middle of the unending aliens wars. It's 2187, and Earth has the Katarga trapped on the moon, refusing to allow them to escape. Then there are ongoing threats from the Piltrak and Jurale, which forces Global Command to recruit 15-year-olds like Dax, as soldiers. She never imagined she'd be advanced as a soldier, yet she was hand-picked by gruff Commander Viteri and taken from her parents, never to see them again. She doesn't want to kill aliens, and suspects there's more to the wars than keeping the aliens at bay. The problem is, she has to find a way to stay alive long enough to reveal the truth.

Writing is a true passion of mine, born from a love of the written word that can transport the reader to different places or worlds and deliver them back to reality, safe and sound.

When attorney Cullen Molloy attends his fortieth high school reunion, he doesn’t expect to be defending childhood friends against charges of murder…

In a small town on the high plains of Eastern New Mexico, life and culture are shaped by the farm roads defining the 640-acre sections of land homesteaders claimed at the turn of the Twentieth Century. Cullen and Shelby Blaine explore first love along these section roads during the 1960’s, forging a life-long emotional bond.

As junior high school band nerds, Cullen and Shelby fall under the protection of football player and loner, Buddy Boyd. During their sophomore year of high school, Buddy is charged with killing a classmate and is confined to a youth correctional facility. When he returns to town facing the prospect of imprisonment as an adult, Cullen becomes Buddy’s protector.

The case haunts the three friends into adulthood, and it isn’t until their fortieth reunion, that they’re forced to revisit that horrible night. When a new killing takes place, Cullen, Shelby and Buddy find themselves reliving the nightmare.

Murder is an easy thing to hide along old country section roads.

She doesn't have time for a relationship,

but maybe she could swing a one-night stand.

After all, he's just a stripper,

so no need to worry about the future... or a broken heart.

Kendall has it all: a soaring law career, a bank account filled with cash, and an apartment overlooking the Chicago River. Her life couldn’t get any better; at least that’s what she thinks before she hosts a bachelorette party for her younger cousin, Ruthie.

What starts out as a low-key soiree quickly turns into an evening of debauchery when two strippers show up unexpectedly. During their act, Kendall can’t keep her eyes off the dark and stoic Giovanni. Fueled by too many Moscow Mules and ignited by the male form, her suppressed desire smolders.

With the prodding of her older cousin Freya, Kendall pursues a one-night stand with Gio. But when she realizes she wants more, Kendall is forced to reexamine her priorities as well as her lifelong definition of success.

Kendall's story is the first installment of the five-book romantic comedy series THE LONELY SPINSTERS CLUB.

Daphne Hargrow is a romance writer, avid reader, and novice yogi. She has also published a few young adult novels under a different name. When Daphne is not writing, thinking about writing, or reading about writing, she watches YouTube conspiracy videos and dreams of the day when she, too, can join the ranks of the Illuminati.
