SHROUDED IN DARKNESS…
If it hadn’t been for King Leonidas, white witch Ceva would have roamed the earth alone and ostracized. She was a biological accident, and her heritage was a curse she’d carry around for all her days. Now she fights for her king and kingdom, a fierce warrior on a mission to prove she is worthy of the trust and friendship the king has afforded. When she meets Lothar, captain of the Black Ridge Wolf Pack guard, she glimpses a future she never thought possible. But once he knows her truths, he will surely reject her.
ONLY HE CAN SET HER FREE
Lothar had never met anyone like Ceva. Beautiful, fierce, protective and loyal, she would make the perfect mate for any man. Lotharwants to be that man, but Ceva remains elusive. Sure, she flirts, and they dance around each other, but Lothar wants more. When his team joins hers on a dangerous mission, he learns her secrets, which makes her more extraordinary, not the pariah she believes she is. But her past is about to catch up with her, and only his love can save them from certain death.
EXCERPT:
With one last look at Lothar’s breathing but still figure, her heart sank. She crouched lower and dug her fingers farther into the dirt and continued chanting. The sounds of fighting drifted away as she molded the earth to doing her bidding. The ground underneath each ogre began to tremble and shift. Ceva pushed more power into her incantation and felt it spike as the ground opened under each ogre and became quicksand, sucking each one down, until only the wolves remained. Ceva felt her powers waning and went to her hands and knees to draw breath into her shaking body.
“Swear to the heavens, you’re going to be the death of me, Ceva,” Lothar growled as he knelt beside her. “You will surely give me a heart attack before this is over.”
“Wouldn’t want to interrupt your rambling,” she moaned, “but do you think you can help me stand?” Ceva retracted her wings, absorbing them back into her body through the slits in her shirt.
“I can do better than that.” He lifted her from the ground and held her to his muscled chest. Don’t get used to this. No distractions, remember?
“My savior,” she joked. “You just wanted to get your hands on me.”
“Savior, damn right.” She noted he didn’t respond to her other comment.
“How long will you be here?” She half hoped it was for a while.
“Until the job is done, we’re at your disposal,” Lothar replied. “Then we can go back to our pack.”
“Lucky me.” Ceva laughed. “Try not to get yourself killed.” Please be safe.
“You know you want me here,” he whispered into her ear, his warm breath sending shivers throughout her body. Instead of answering, she crossed her arms, making him smile wider.

That brought him back to the DC area, where he taught at the German School for another eighteen years. Triena lives on an outback moon earning a living by offering flower readings for customers. Cast out from the Queens, the Energy Readers, Triena wants to return, but the only way to do that is to kill Braklen and use his energy to look into the future.
Braklen, a Peacekeeper with the Queens, arrives at the Triena’s Tea House. He doesn’t realize the danger he is in when he sits down for a flower reading.
Triena sees her chance to kill Braklen by using the potency in flower buds. The Energy guides her hand, and instead, the suppressed feelings toward Braklen surface.
Can she kill the man she loves?
Excerpt
Braklen looked down into the bowl full of gray something that was meant to be food.
“I wouldn’t eat that, man,” said a fellow evening-shift worker sitting opposite Braklen.
Despite the warning, Braklen dunked a spoon into the thick broth. “Can’t be too bad.” He spooned the greasy liquid with gray floating bits into his mouth. He choked.
The other man laughed, slapping his hand down on the metal table. “You’ll get used to it.”
Braklen coughed as the last of the liquid went down. “Tastes like jet fuel.”
“Wouldn’t put it past the cook to put some in. He probably thinks that it’d give us a boost to work harder.”
“How can you eat it?” Braklen’s spoon was poised above the liquid, but he couldn’t bring himself to take another mouthful. This was a long-haul flight and the bowl of slop was the only thing to eat. He’d just finished a twelve-hour shift in the engine room trying to repair the electronics in the backup system that were so worn out and old, it should’ve been thrown out instead. It was the first ship that accepted his qualifications as a mechanical engineer. He’d boarded, wanting to get as far away as possible from Triena.
His heart lurched, skipping beats, then contracting, causing pain to spread out across his chest. He knew he shouldn’t have boarded, or left her unconscious on the ground. But, since the chip had been deactivated, there was no point hanging around. She didn’t really want me there, not really.
The guy shrugged his shoulders, scrapping the last of the broth onto the spoon and delivered it into his mouth. “I’m already pretty thin. I’ll fade away if I don’t eat.”
Braklen laughed. “Hasn’t anyone complained?”
His men put up with a lot when he was in charge but he would’ve had an uprising if they’d ever had this food from the galley. Emptiness clawed at his gut at the reminder he didn’t command a unit of Peacekeepers anymore. Worse, he was now a wanted man.
He’d contemplated taking Triena with him, turning her in to the authorities and begging to be reinstated. But, much as he wanted his life back, that wasn’t an option. It was clear he’d been set up, a pawn for them to use to get to her. She’ll be better off without me. Safer without me.

Excerpt
Her easy dismissal of something so vital, unleashed his predatory instincts. She only shrugged away his interest because the pull hadn’t yet engaged in her. Once his taste spread through her mouth, her body would ache with need and her blood would sizzle through her veins, “pulling” her toward him. In ages past, any Rodyte male would have tossed her over his shoulder and escaped to some private location where they could fight this out in bed.
“This is about so much more than children.” Stalking toward her with obvious intent, he spoke in a low, almost menacing tone. “Once a Rodyte male has found his mate, she becomes the most important person in the universe. Protecting her, providing for her, and pleasuring her are all he can think about. Why should I ignore what every cell in my body is demanding?”
She backed up, fear flickering through her gaze. “If you touch me, I’ll scream.”
“You have nothing to fear from me.” But he kept right on coming, only stopping when her back pressed against the wall. He placed his hands on either side of her head, caging her with his big body. “Breathe in my scent, let it wash over and sink into you.”
“This is pointless.” She sounded a bit more assertive now, but her lips trembled. “I don’t feel what you’re feeling.”
“Not yet,” he whispered as he lowered his head. She jerked her face aside, so he kissed her cheek and jawline. “Kiss me, Jenna. See if my taste excites you.”
“No,” she said firmly. “I don’t want to be excited by anyone right now. I—”
He turned her head and cut off her words with his mouth. Her lips pressed together, unmoving and unresponsive. His instincts demanded that he open her mouth and stake his claim with the thrust of his tongue, but she’d likely bite him if he forced this on her. Besides, he wanted her wild and willing, not resentful and resigned.
“What are you so afraid of?” he whispered the words against her stubbornly closed mouth. “Nothing is more natural, more fulfilling, than touching and being touched by your mate.”
Her hands came up and shoved against his chest. “Back off. Now!”
“Kiss me once, and I’ll let you go.” He brushed his lips over hers, coaxing, teasing.
“No means no, asshole.” She brought her knee up hard, barely missing his crotch as he quickly turned away.
With an exasperated sigh, he pushed off the wall and motioned toward the door through which they’d escaped. “Enjoy the party.”

"Gayle Erickson is brilliantly gifted in telling this engaging, sometimes disturbing, yet compulsively addicting story of a woman in crisis due to the bonds of the guilt-filled lens of her past"
"It is visually rich and culturally expansive,"
"You will fall in love with each of these honest, imperfect characters and identify with their struggles, demons, and challenges. Exposing the raw truths we often try to mask..."

Danger is a part of life, at least in my line of work. I serve. I protect. I take down the men and women that would endanger the innocent. My Marine training led me to believe this would be an easy job. It was until Elayna Hart was dropped in my lap. After that, it was all up in the air.
Danger struck, and I had no choice but to do whatever I could to keep her safe. The attraction between us made it harder to focus, until I did the only thing I could. I ran away with her. We were off the grid with only two others for back up. If anyone came after her, we’d die to protect her.

Excerpt:
Being a witness to a robbery shouldn't destroy your entire life, but it certainly wrecked mine. It may not have been so bad if I hadn't have recognized the man holding the gun. The man who shot an innocent man for no reason other than stupidity and greed. His face had been shielded by a ski mask, but that deep baritone gave him away. The moment “Hurry the fuck up or I’ll blow your head off” left his lips, I gasped, uttering his name in what I thought was a silent rebuke. He looked my way and the man behind the register tried to grab the gun.
My world flashed in multiple colors as I watched in horror. The guy’s hand reached out, Jonathan jerked back, and with a twitch of his hand the man's head blew back, a coating of red spraying against the back wall. He was dead. I screamed and Jonathan attacked me. His hand wrapped around my throat, and I fought unsuccessfully to get out of his grip. Some noise distracted him for a moment, and I was able to hit his arm and slip out of his hold, barely.
The sound of the sirens made him think twice about attacking again. He ran off, but not before warning me to stay quiet, or I was dead. Why he didn’t just shoot me right then and there, I don’t know.

Living and working in both states i’ve learned a lot about hard work, adapting to your surroundings and making the best of the path that you have been led down. My grandma Dollie once told me I would know what I was meant to do when it happened. She was right, as always.
As with most book lovers, I am an avid reader. Reading has always been a hobby - a passion, really and a way to get lost in other people’s lives, their drama and other worlds. It’s a private movie in your imagination that you get to cast and navigate through, at your own pace. Reading helps to expand the perimeters of one's mind. That is what got me into writing. Writing has been something that I have done since I was a kid. If I had paper, I was writing. Nine out of ten times it made no sense but what are words if they are not to be used to your advantage? Words are a part of us all. Why not use them, right?
During the day I work as a ‘desk jockey’ and help the residents of my county navigate themselves around our little, but not too little country town. By night I am either blogging with my best friends, doing PA work for some of my favorite authors or fighting with the voices in my head. They can be stubborn at times. It’s a blessing and I am cherishing every moment. Tomorrow is never guaranteed so I want to make sure I live the day as fully as possible. For what is my creation, can become someone else's treasure.

Want to be a Misfit? Oh yes, you do!
My group will get teasers, excerpts and all the behind the scenes things of my writings before anyone else gets them.
I'm participating in Bout of Books 20! Here's what it's all about:
You were going to read that week anyway, right? Read with us. The Bout of Books Read-a-Thon was created by Amanda Shofner on a complete whim in August 2011*. It took on a life of its own and was such a hit that Amanda decided to do it again and turn it into a somewhat regular occurrence.
Go Here to sign up! Here is what I would like to read during this Bout: Day 1: Introduce Yourself In Six Words
Gardener, Dancer, Scientist, Mother, Dreamer, Helper
Currently Reading: Daughters of Ireland Day 2: Synopsis Rewrite
If you think trying to get people to do what is right is tough, try doing it from beyond the grave. Adeline Deverill is trying to help her granddaughter break the family curse. However, Kitty, Adeline's granddaughter has seemed to strayed from the path that would set things right. The family castle that holds the curse has been burnt down and bought up by a cousin. Kitty, who loves Jack O'leary has married another man. If Kitty would have only followed her heart, the Deverill men could be released from their prison in the afterlife.
Day 3: Book Spine RainbowDay 4: If you like this...try that...
If you like Audrey Niffenegger, try Gwendolyn Womack. Both authors use time manipulation and romance in unique ways.
Day 5: Write a Review
Finally finished The Daughters of Ireland! Here is the review for those of you wondering:
Celia Deverill has bought the ruins of her family's castle after it was burned down in the war. The year is 1925 and Celia and her husband have plenty of money to rebuild the castle and upgrade everything to Celia's extravagant and opulent demands. While Celia is busy redecorating, Kitty Deverill and her husband Robert Trench are raising Kitty's half-brother, Little Jack. Kitty is concerned that Little Jack's real mother, Bridie Doyle will come and steal him away. Kitty is also wrestling with her feelings for her true love Jack O'Leary. She will have to make a decision to tear apart her family and move to America with Jack or deny her true love and stay with her family and her home in Ireland. Meanwhile, Bridie Doyle has become a new person in New York. Now a wealthy widow, she is determined to reclaim the son that was taken from her as well as the Castle where she once worked. Once again, I was enraptured by the stories of the women of Castle Deverill. Picking up right after The Girl in the Castle, the stories of Kitty, Bridie and Celia continue to grow and shine. Now adults, these women are making their own decisions and affecting the lives of those around them as well as the ghosts who still inhabit Castle Deverill. I was very pleased that Barton Deverill's story was expanded upon and I was able to understand the reasons for the curse. I love that the supernatural and folklore are a part of the story, bringing out the magic of Ireland in a sophisticated way. I was completely captivated by all of these women's stories while they were busy trying to navigate life and come to terms with what has been handed to them their stories went in such different ways then I could have ever imagined. I became so frustrated at points when their decisions seemed immature or senseless, I just wanted to shake them! However, through masterful storytelling, the saga of the Daughters of Ireland engrossed me all the way through. I was definitely surprised at the end, but I believe they are one step closer to breaking the curse of Castle Deverill. This book was received for free in return for an honest review. Day 6: Love to Hate
My love to hate is Rhys from Wildalone. So many questions, so much weirdness...her sister? This guy had me flipflopping a lot.
