Poisonous Dream
Yumoyori Wilson
(Starlight Gods #5)
Publication date: February 9th 2018
Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Romance

Don’t you sometimes wish that everything was just a dream?

My name is Daniel Moore, future heir of Realm Ten, ArchAilennia.

I’ve never felt regret like this before, such turmoil clinging to my very soul. I had vowed once long ago to never endure such pain and torment. Yet, such a vow has already been broken and this time, it’s to someone far more dear.

My princess is everything to me. She’s my light when the shadows attempt to cloud my way, my beacon of hope when doubt aims to cripple me, and now she’s my greatest sorrow because I can’t face her. To look into those hollow, turquoise eyes and realize I’m the cause of such agony breaks my heart.

Could she forgive me for my error of judgment? Would she even glance my way for the pain I’ve made her endure? Only time will tell.

~In Stars We Trust~

Recommended for 18+ audience, containing mature sexual content, violence and strong language. TRIGGER WARNING- Anyone who experiences triggers due to self-harm, please do NOT read this book. You have been warned.

NOTE: POISONOUS DREAM is written in CANADIAN ENGLISH – meaning both American and British English is used.

EXCERPT:

“I’m aware. I’ll do any favor you need me to.”

“Does that include you marrying the woman you’re supposed to be engaged to?”

I frowned, my hands clenching to fists in an attempt to hold down my anger. I didn’t want to wake Ryder up and let anyone else know I was having this conversation.

“If it means the Princess will be able to walk again…I’ll do it,” I whispered. My heart was already hammering against my chest, trying to keep my left foot from tapping the floor in a rage.

“Even though it will shatter your heart? Even though you wouldn’t be able to get out of it, no matter how much you later begged?” she questioned, dropping the pen and rising to her feet before making her way over to me.

I stilled, trying to keep my breathing calm.

“Yes.”

She sat on the armrest, looking down at me before she tilted my head upward with her hand that was now under my chin.

Her glowing eyes met mine, making a hint of fear flutter through me as I saw her seriousness.

“Even if it broke Makoto’s heart? What if your one sacrifice to make her happy backfired? You wouldn’t regret this?” Her voice was low, like an enemy ready to torture its victim.

I tried to open my mouth to agree, my lip trembling as I tried to muster the words. I needed to do this for the Princess. If it’s for her, I’d give my life and soul for her to be happy and smile again

Visionary X Starlight- Valentine’s Day
Yumoyori Wilson
Publication date: February 10th 2018
Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Romance

Two different worlds – one unique connection – a whole lot of love.

Valentine’s Day – an annual holiday dedicated to love, promoting couples to emphasize their love through gifts and celebration.

Makoto Heart spent her life trapped in a dark cell, never knowing the day existed or experienced love until her star knights. When three of her star knights – Kai, Marcus, and Elias – have the opportunity to bring her to Earthala, she’s given the chance to enjoy a four-day countdown to the celebration.

Scarlet Sinclair has dreaded February 14th. Her feelings stemmed from the reminder that she usually spent the day sitting alone, binge watching chick flicks on Netflix and devouring chocolate she bought for herself. But, this year would be different – Ethan, Junho, and Christian make a promise to prove to her that Valentine’s has more benefits than chocolate, and they’d use the next four days to prove it.

Will they each get more love than they bargained for?

Recommended for 18+ audience, containing mature sexual content, violence and strong language. THERE WILL BE F/F in this book. If that is not your cup of tea, PLEASE do not read it.

NOTE: Visionary X Starlight is written in CANADIAN ENGLISH – meaning both American and British English is used.

EXCERPT:

“Meow.”

Christian groaned while I turned my head, noticing Moonlight sitting on the two-seat sofa— his turquoise eyes staring at Christian.

“Please don’t tell me you took his doll again,” I huffed.

“I don’t have it,” Christian argued.

“Why is Moonlight here then?” I countered.

“Cause he loves interrupting me when I want to have some damn alone time with you,” Christian argued.

I sighed, patting my thighs.

Moonlight hopped off the chair to the floor, making his way to where I sat in Christian’s lap. He leaped onto my lap, sitting patiently as I pet him gently.

“Hey you. Why are you interrupting us when Christian doesn’t have your doll?” I cooed, enjoying the feel of Moonlight’s soft black fur.

“Meow.”

“He hid it, but it’s not here,” Risuki mumbled in my mind.

I sighed, turning to Christian who grumbled under his breath.

“Junnie has it,” he admitted reluctantly.

“Why does Junnie have his doll?”

“Because I put it in her purse.”

“Because?”

“Your familiar has a vendetta against me and is trying to ruin the one day I have with my girlfriend before Valentine’s Day and I didn’t want him crashing it, again,” Christian complained.

I blushed, feeling touched by his frustration regarding our lack of alone time.

“Well, he shouldn’t have hidden it. Could have asked nicely,” Risuki mumbled.

Book Tour Grand Finale for
The Rancher's Temporary Engagement
By Stacy Henrie

We hope you enjoyed the tour! If you missed any of the stops
you can see snippets, as well as the link to each full post, below:

Launch - Note from the Author

I’m excited to share with readers my fifth Love Inspired Historical, which is also the first in a three book series set in and around Sheridan, Wyoming in the late 1890s and early 1900s. This particular story was fun to write because I was able to give a nod to my love of England through my British hero Edward and give my smart, no-nonsense heroine Maggy an unusual profession as a female Pinkerton agent...

Happy Reading!

— Stacy

Janice's Book Reviews - Review

"I fell in love with the main characters and descriptions of the scenes were very vivid. . . . This is my first book by Stacy Henrie, I will definitely have to read more of her books. I really enjoyed this book."

Heidi Reads... - Review

"I always love how Stacy Henrie's books transport me to the setting with rich historical details. The characters really came to life against the backdrop the author set and while it's a relatively quick read, that's partly because I couldn't put it down! . . . Loved the sweet romance and fascinating history!"

Teatime and Books - Excerpt

“You are going to ruin this investigation,” she hissed. “Could you have looked any more appalled at playing the role of my fiancé?”

“Are you mad?” Edward countered, keeping his voice equally low. “Of course I’m going to be shocked and downright annoyed when you announce such a ridiculous fiction.”
Maggy crossed her arms and glared at him. Her eyes had turned a dark cobalt. “There wasn’t time to ask how you felt about it. Besides I told you that I was coming up with a role.”

Locks, Hooks and Books - Review

"The Rancher’s Temporary Engagement is a fabulous historical that should not be missed. I had it read in just a few hours and it was time well spent. I highly recommend this for those who love a good, sweet, clean, heartwarming book that, also, has a touch of mystery and suspense.
A well deserved 5 plus stars."

The Power of Words - Review

"Stacy Henrie brings something intangible to every story that she writes; she just has a special touch that’s hard to define. All the details that I love are present in The Rancher’s Temporary Engagement – character depth, historical detail, humor, romantic tension. And then there’s the emotional tug that comes from characters who don’t seem fictional at all, but easily identifiable people who face similar struggles as we might, only in a different setting. While I’ve enjoyed all that I’ve read by this author, this book holds a special place in my heart."

Paulette's Papers - Excerpt

Unpinning her hat, Maggy used it to fan her flushed face. She shut her eyes and willed herself to breathe through the pressure in her chest. She was safe—no one was going to harm her ever again. Especially not a man. Detective skills weren’t the only things she’d learned in the last six years; she’d also learned how to take care of herself.

SilverWoodSketches - Review

"I was surprised by the depth and sincerity of Henrie's writing. In such a light genre, many inspirational authors shy away from the grittier aspects of the time period. Henrie handles both the bad and ugly with honesty and a deeper message of hope. As Maddy slowly watches the way Edward weaves his faith through his daily life, Henrie also urges us to "see His hand in everything." The impact of Edward's faith in God and in Maddy, as she unravels the mystery is more than empowering, it's a reminder of the true meaning of redeeming love."

Katie’s Clean Book Collection - Review

"The romance is sweet and tender and very believable and the setting is hot, dusty, and perfect for the times. I couldn't put it down and was swept away for a time, which was completely fine with me. If you love historical mystery romances, dime novels, and mysteries, this one is for you."

Books n Baubles - Review & Character Interview

"I couldn’t put the book down, the story kept me on my toes….just when I thought I knew what was going on things changed slightly and I started second guessing my thoughts. It really is a great story I highly recommend you read it!"

Q: What was your first impression of Edward?
A: Ha! Stubborn and reserved, for sure. But also handsome and kind to his staff.

Reading Is My SuperPower - Review

"Peppered with humor and gentle truth, The Rancher’s Temporary Engagement is a great read from start to finish! Henrie’s sense of timing shines, as well as her ability to create dimensional characters who quickly feel like dear friends. The friendship-turned-romance is swoony and sweet, and the suspense gives the plot purpose without overpowering it. Stacy Henrie’s novels are always wonderfully enjoyable, and this one is no exception!"

Faithfully Bookish - Excerpt

“Are you always this obstinate, Mr. Kent?” Maggy asked, jerking his thoughts back to the unpleasant scene unfolding on his porch.

She was accusing him of obstinacy? He climbed the steps in an effort to keep her from barging her way inside. An action he wouldn’t put past her. “Are you always this persistent?”

Her eyes brightened with amusement. “I wouldn’t be one of Pinkertons best detectives if I weren’t.”

Cafinated Reads - Review

"I loved this book! It’s a quick, captivating read and I loved the writing style of Ms. Henrie. She has a beautiful way of pulling the reader into the heart of the story instantly and making them feel apart of the whirlwind of fun. I loved Edward and Maggy’s characters. They were perfectly chiseled and true-to-life."

Hearts & Scribbles - Excerpt

His unexpected show of confidence in her abilities to come up with a solid cover story brought her earlier idea forward at last, in full form. “I’m Maggy. Edward’s fiancée,” she finished with a triumphant smile. “Isn’t that right, darling?”

Turning toward him, Maggy only had a moment to register the shock in Edward’s gray eyes before his mouthful of tea came spewing out—all over her.

Remembrancy - Review

"A feisty, capable and determined detective—who happens to be female—and a British transplant to Wyoming intent on proving his worth as a rancher combine for a delightful read...

With memorable characters and plenty of culprits, this book is a suspenseful, yet delightful, read."

I Am A Reader - Excerpt

“Fine.” Edward let his shoulders slump. “I won’t get into fisticuffs with Howe.”

One corner of Maggy’s mouth lifted. “You would get into fisticuffs for me?”

He sensed she meant it in a teasing way, but he couldn’t bring himself to jest about something he felt strongly about. “Yes, Maggy.” He placed his hand over hers where it still rested near his heart—just as it had the other day when they’d stumbled into each other. “I would.”

Among the Reads - Review

"I’m always so glad to find new authors I like. Stacy Henrie is now on my “buy as soon as it is released list”. The Rancher’s Temporary Engagement was a great story with mystery, romance, and life lessons about the love of God."

Tell Tale Book Reviews - Review

"The Rancher's Temporary Engagement was just like its predecessors, a truly fun read with delightfully generous amounts of romance and danger. And the overarching theme that each person is of value is an important reminder to every person who has ever doubted their own worth...which is probably every single one of us."

Bookworm Nation - Excerpt

Stepping in front of him, she gripped his face between her palms. The heat of the fire baked her back, but she wouldn’t give up on Edward, not without a fight. And a fight could well be the result of what she was about to do.

She tipped his head toward her. Then, ignoring the steely quality in his gray eyes, she pressed her lips firmly to his. His jaw stiffened briefly beneath her hands, but Maggy didn’t let it deter her. She poured all the fears and joys she’d experienced over the last month into her kiss.

For the Love of Books - Review

"I really enjoyed this story! I loved the characters, the story line, the dialogue, Stacy's writing style. It was all done beautifully."

How does Gramble Thyssen, middle-aged and complacent bureaucrat, transform into an brilliant FBI agent? The author has assembled a playlist on Deezer that goes along with the book:

From Sophie's Playlist:

Chapter 1

“Ships at a distance have every man's wish on board.” — Zora Neale Hurston, Their Eyes Were Watching God (1937)

~“Begin the Begin” R.E.M. (1986)

i.          Gramble

Gramble Thyssen was looking at the clock wondering when it would strike 5 p.m. so that he could leave. The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) was, as always, devoid of any "customers" and the silence preoccupied him: the hum of the air-conditioning, the occasional cough several aisles away, the shuffling of papers, or the creak of a chair. He was alone today in his cubicle - again - as Edith was out pregnant and George started showing premature signs of Alzheimer's and was rummaging in the tomb of his memories.

Funny how these partitions created a fake sense of isolation and looked so desolate with their laminated surfaces, the identical carbon-copy-like telephones on every desk and old greasy-screen monitors and dusty power strips.  The Wi-Fi was relatively unstable (despite being spitting distance between the Lincoln Memorial and the White House in central Washington, DC) and the network cables were all missing that little plastic tab designed to hold the cable in the laptop port. If all four occupants of the cubicle pushed back on their chairs, they would collide without even stretching out their legs. And should two of them need to make a phone call at the same time, well, it was hard to hear oneself think sometimes.

Brendan must do whatever it takes to keep his family safe.

Strangers whose survival depends upon each other’s skills and courage.

For fans of REVOLUTION and Tom Clancy, ALL SYSTEMS DOWN is a riveting cyber war thriller that presents a threat so credible you’ll be questioning reality.

Excerpt

Downtown went dark.

Brendan had been walking with a small group toward the pedestrian bridge when it happened. Every light from every skyscraper, every shop, and every window flickered and winked out. Up and down the skyline, street lights blackened. Bridge lights, harbor lights, streetcars, storefronts—everything succumbed to darkness.

There should have been a noise to accompany the blackout. A loud bang. The explosion of a transformer. The pop of electrical wire. But there was no sound of any kind. Just the gasp of people on every side of Brendan.

Shyness Doesn’t Have to Hold You Back
By Gary Small, MD, and Gigi Vorgan
Emma finally made it to the head of the line and ordered a white wine. She had to yell because the band was playing so loudly. She hated weddings, especially when she had to go alone. At 35, her parents and friends were giving up on her ever getting married, and they blamed Emma for being too choosy. But Emma knew it was really just her shyness that was holding her back.
She took a seat at table 12, her designated torture chair for the evening, and began calculating how soon she could leave. After the toasts and before the salad, an attractive man from the next table leaned over and asked Emma to dance. She avoided his eyes and shook her head no. He shrugged and asked another woman at the table.
As Emma watched them enter the dance floor, her inner voice yelled, “Idiot! He was cute and you blew it!” She reached for her third dinner roll but there was no butter left. “I should have stayed home,” Emma grumbled to herself.
Emma is one of the millions of people who suffer from excessive shyness and insecurity. Although she would have liked to be more extroverted, it just wasn’t in the cards for her, and she accepted her fate. Too bad Emma hadn’t read SNAP! Change Your Personality in 30 Days or she would have known how easily and quickly she could alter this or almost any other aspect of her personality. All she or any of us need are the right tools and motivation.
Almost everybody has one or more things about themselves they would change if they could, but most of us wouldn’t know where to start. We are too busy and set in our ways to even entertain the idea. Besides, experts have longed believed that our personalities are formed in early childhood and remain fairly intact throughout life.
Today, however, that belief has been shattered. A growing understanding of the science of personality tells us that we can change our personalities in a snap – in as little as 30 days.
Our personalities affect every area of our lives: career trajectory, success in relationships, health outcomes, and even our risk for developing dementia as we age. As a practicing psychiatrist, I have seen this method work for my patients. They have been able to alter their thinking patterns, behaviors, and feelings – the three main components of personality – and change their lives for the better.

Date Published: November 8, 2017 (paperback); May 4, 2012 (kindle)

 photo add-to-goodreads-button_zpsc7b3c634.png

Enter the world of Pure Ones, a race of immortal, supernaturally powerful beings who protect humankind, where sexual intercourse with anyone other than one’s Eternal Mate leads to a slow, painful death within thirty days.

The Healer of the race, Rain, is the only exception to this rule. She must take a Consort once every ten years and draw strength from his blood and body. Valerius, Protector of the race, is the strongest candidate.

Despite their instant attraction, Valerius has staunchly avoided applying to be the Healer’s Consort. The brutality and violence he suffered as a Roman sex slave in his human life ate away at his soul, leaving a dark abyss of torment and self-doubt.

Now, as Rain’s strength drains with every healing act, Valerius cannot escape the fact that he may be the only one who can save her, and in so doing, afford his people greater hope for the future as battles intensify.

About the Author

Aja has been writing stories since the age of six, and novels since the age of thirteen. While she'd be the first to admit that those early efforts weren't particularly good, she sure loved putting them down on paper!

The best part of writing, according to Aja, is that it’s completely organic, the way the stories develop. When the inspiration hits, she writes just so she herself can learn where the characters are headed because oftentimes, they take her by surprise! It is her ultimate dream to share her stories with as many readers as she possibly can.

Her other loves include art, cooking, old movies (anything with Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Robert Redford, Vivien Leigh, Elizabeth Taylor, Paul Newman, Clark Gable, and all the song and dance numbers because she can’t watch them and not be happy!)

She adores taking long walks with her husband and running after her two rambunctious kids. She has traveled extensively (all seven continents except Antarctica) and has a multi-cultural upbringing. She speaks two and a half languages and binge watch TV shows when the mood strikes.

Aja has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Comparative Literature and Economics and two Master’s degrees, one of which is in East Asian Studies.
