The Listener, Otter and Honors the Buffalo Chief inhabit the world long ago. A spotted frog gives them a warning about a Great Flood. The Listener heeds the spotted frogs warning of the Great Flood while none of the other animals do.
A story of morals and above all, listening to and respecting nature with familiar elements from other cultures creation stories. I enjoyed the illustrations and the simplicity of the story for children while still creating a clear message. The simplicity allows the story to be told in a variety of mediums, it could easily be translated into a play, puppet show or told by a storyteller.
