Little Chickies Squeal is a popular Spanish children's song.  Translated and set to pictures, it is now able to be enjoyed in English as well.  The Little Chickies squeal when they are hungry or cold and mama hen provides them with everything that they need.  

This simple text set to rhyme is perfect to read with your own little one, reminding them that you are there for everything that they will ever need.  The text is in English and then the original Spanish, which I am well enough versed in to pronounce properly (I hope!).  While a few rhymes were jumbled a bit in translation, most of the words seemed to translate directly, so this is also a good book to introduce Spanish to your little one.  I do wish that the musical score was included right in the book so I could know the melody and be able to sing it as well!  You can go to their website, however and play the song there.

Funny and charming, Babak the Beetle will give you a new outlook on the little creature.  His determination to return the egg will lead you through the habitats of the African Savanna.  Babak asks the ostriches, cuckoos, frogs and snakes if the egg could possibly belong to them before being led to a strange place where people are hitting his egg into holes!  While asking each of the animals about the egg, we learn a little about that animals real eggs. The pictures are simple and done in a dignified color scheme, fun to look at but letting you focus on Babak's journey.

One little pup seems to always get himself into trouble.  Whether it is getting himself dirty, making a mistake, acting without thinking or just being too rambunctious, his owner will always be happy to see him.

With a simple message of I will always be happy to see you, this books lets kids know just that.  A good book for parents to read with toddlers to reinforce that at the end of the day, we will always be happy to see them, no matter what.  This lets little ones know that mistakes will be made and no one is ever perfect, but love is far reaching.  The pictures are cute and simple and I loved the puppy's mischievous little grin.
