Jack Hammond is an immortal. Stuck to look like a 20 year old for more than 100 years, Jack has roamed the World without reason, meaning or knowledge or how or why he is the way he is. Since the death of his love, Lydia, Jack has felt that there is nothing to continue for. When Jack lands in Portland, Maine, things begin to change. After bumping into a woman who looks exactly like Lydia and a man who is from too far in the past, Jack gets another chance at love and begins to understand exactly he is.
This is a very interesting paranormal romance story that I had no idea where it was going. For this story, I really appreciated that the majority of the point of view was from Jack’s perspective. Jack was a broken character when the story began and things could hopefully only get better for him. He is also shrouded in so much mystery, that I wanted to keep reading even though the beginning moved slow for me. Things began moving for me when Jack met Leah and began to figure out his connection to her and began to figure out exactly what he is and why. Their romance moved fast, but for good reason and was exceptionally sweet. I was really intrigued by what exactly Jack is, his family history and how the other immortals operate. The ending was very surprising and moved very fast, I couldn’t put it down!
