The White Princess is the fifth book in the Cousin's War series by Philippa Gregory. As a lover of historical fiction and an avid reader of most of Philippa Gregory's other books, I enjoyed this story very much. The White Princess continues the story of the cousin's war with the story of Elizabeth of York, told from Elizabeth's point of view. This is an aspect that carries through the series, all told from the women's point of view.
Elizabeth of York is given the excruciating task of ending the cousin's war by marrying Henry Tudor, the enemy of killer of her former lover King Richard. Through the story you see Elizabeth grow as she is faced with very difficult decisions.
I love learning about this period of history through these books. Philippa Gregory brings this period of time alive and I am able to understand the intense political atmosphere thoroughly. She also did a wonderful job of tying in facts from the previous women from this series series of books, bringing back in small things that were mentioned before to enhance the story.
