![]() I have been using the ibaby monitor for a few weeks now and it has been really fun! First of all, installation was super easy, I did it all by myself; just plugged in and downloaded the app, and then I was ready to go. Now, I already have a monitor over my six-month old’s crib, so I put this monitor looking out at his swing where he naps and his play area with his ExerSaucer. It does need to be near a power source and plugged in. It’s great for monitoring him while he is awake and playing when I have to leave the room or when I am at work. This would also be perfect for a nanny cam. The video comes through very clear and with full color, the camera is able to pan all the way around so I can follow his movements. It is also very easy to follow him with just a swipe of my finger on the ipad. Without the separate wall mount, I’m afraid this wouldn’t work so well as a crib monitor. Some of the features that I really enjoy are not only monitoring his sounds, but being able to talk to him through the ipad. It’s really cute to see him turn towards the camera when he hears my voice. There is a pretty good delay from when you speak until when the sound comes out through the monitor, though and for when you are listening. The camera is also pretty cool; I can take pictures right from the monitor screen when I’m away. There is also the option to play some lullabies right through the monitor; however, I haven’t tried this yet as I’m afraid it would just wake him right back up. The sound and motion sensor alerts are great for when I’m not near, but when I’m right next to the camera, there is a lot of clicking and whirring happening.
