Review:
Macy's family is busy preparing for Thanksgiving dinner. Just as Macy's grandparents arrive, Dino the dog sees an opportunity to get a Thanksgiving dinner of his own. With the turkey ruined, Macy's mom thinks Thanksgiving is also ruined. Macy's quick thinking may be able to get everyone back on track once again.
A perfect read for busy families around Thanksgiving, Macaroni and Cheese for Thanksgiving portrays a completely relatable family attempting to have a nice Thanksgiving. Complete with sibling rivalry and an exhausted mother, everyone should be able to relate. The best part, however, is the message of the story. Macy is able to bring the family together and remind everyone of what Thanksgiving is really about. Even after the Turkey disaster, Macy is quick thinking to find a compromise meal, have everyone work together to get it ready and remind her family of what the first Thanksgiving might have really been like. Gentle watercolor illustrations round out this fun Thanksgiving story. This is a great story for families to read together to remind everyone of the true nature of the holiday.
