![]() Monk Fruit in the Raw is a zero calorie sweetener that is keto-friendly, zero calorie, zero carb, Kosher, vegan and non-GMO. I mostly cared about the zero calorie part. Monk fruit is a fruit that grows in Southeast Asia. The fruit has an intense sweetness and to process it into a sweetener, it is mixed with erythritol. Upon trying the sweetener all by itself, there is a mild fruity taste to the sweetener with an aftertaste of erythritol. So, if you do not like the taste of erythritol, this may not be for you. The Monk Fruit in the Raw mixed in really well with hot and cold drinks and I didn't notice a taste difference between Monk Fruit in the Raw and regular sugar. I also tried using the sweetener in baking recipes. While you can not switch out all of the sugar in a recipe for Monk Fruit in the Raw, you can cut the sugar down while substituting Monk Fruit in the Raw for a portion, making it just a little healthier. Overall, a healthy sweetener which can be a great substitute for sugar in a variety of foods and drinks. Monk Fruit in the Raw is a great fit if you are on a special diet or would just like to make a healthy switch.
