One day, Wade the young moose notices that his antlers are wiggly. He absolutely does not want to loose his antlers, they are good for so many things! Mom tells Wade that this is just part of growing up, but Wade still wants to keep his antlers as long as possible. So, Wade decides to sit out on all of the fun things that his friends are doing in order to keep his antlers longer.
A cute story of growing up and dealing with change. Wade and his antlers are a perfect way to discuss changes that might be happening in young children, like loosing a tooth. Wade handles change like anyone else might and there are a lot of good discussion points to have with children. Overall, Wade decides that change is good and growing up isn't all that bad. I love pretty much anything with a moose, and Wade was adorable as were all of his forest friends. My son is a little too young to appreciate the lesson from this book, but he enjoyed looking at the cute illustrations and we named the animals of the forest. He also enjoyed when I made the trumpeting sounds!
